The Metroid Soundtrack in Heavy Metal Format

Every hard-core gamer is a fan of the Metroid franchise. The NES and SNES versions were probably the most popular games on either of those gaming systems. Any Metroid fan probably knows the in-game music by heart too. And if not, they would recognize it if they heard it.

Metroid Metal is one of the coolest downloads any gamer could have in their collection. The project started in 2005 by Dan Taylor, which has now evolved into a full-fledged band with Kevin Lawrence, Dan Behrens and Micheal Molnar.

There are a whole bunch of free songs on the site from Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid 2, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3. You can also purchase a remastered lossless CD if you donate at least $6 to the project. Go listen, it’s awesome!

Cross Stitched Zelda Map

Zelda Map Cross Stitch

If you’re anywhere as nerdy as I am, you’re gonna love this Zelda map that was cross stitched onto a large piece of fabric.

A member from the Sprite Stitch Forums named Servotron spent four months creating this cross stitch map from Zelda: a Link to the past on the as any as.

The fabric used for this project is 18 count aida and the entire thing measures 36.5 cm x 32 cm. I don’t know what aida is, but I thought I’d mention it for anyone else who might be interested in cross stitch.

I’ve never done cross stitch myself, but after looking at the final product of this Zelda map, I might have to try it out.

I’d love to have one of my own on my wall.
