The Google Translate Beatbox

Every Google-owned property seems to have an Easter Egg, doesn’t it? Like if you search for “Do the Harlem Shake” in YouTube, the page actually does the Harlem Shake.

Well Google Translate has a cool little Easter egg too. Go to Google Translate and copy and paste the following into the text box.

pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk bschk pv bschk bschk pv kkkkkkkkkk bschk bschk bschk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk bschk pv bschk bschk pv kkkkkkkkkk bschk bschk bschk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk bschk pv bschk bschk pv kkkkkkkkkk bschk bschk bschk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk bschk pv bschk bschk pv kkkkkkkkkk bschk bschk bschk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk bschk pv bschk bschk pv kkkkkkkkkk bschk bschk bschk

In the second text box, click the audio button to listen.

At first I thought this was something that someone with a lot of time on their hands put together (which still might be true), but it seems it may be intentional because if you hover the mouse cursor over the audio button, it says “beatbox” but if you have any other text in the field, it says “listen.”

Update (2024): Google has updated the voices and this easter egg no longer works. But I’ve inserted the video above so that you can see how fun it was. I hope they bring it back someday
